Santorum and the Inevitable Job Search.
After months on the campaign trail, traipsing from state to state and kissing more babies than Michelle Bachmann has foster children, Rick Santorum must be really bored, not to mention almost broke.
“We were just burning through cash at a rate we couldn’t maintain. Super PAC money didn’t pay the bills on the campaign.”
The lawyer-turned-congressman-turned-pundit-turned-presidential...
Santorum's Long Game.
Rick Santorum may have bowed out of the 2012 presidential election, but the election season not through with him.
With former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney remaining as the (once again) presumed candidate, the speculation about Santorum getting a vice presidential nod will persist. After all, he ran a solid campaign against a multimillionaire and heir to political dynasty. Even if Santorum...
Santorum Needs To Go Home And Go Big.
Rick Santorum is in denial.
On Sunday, the former Pennsylvania legislator looked tired when he admitted to “Meet the Press” substitute Savannah Guthrie that this month’s primary in Pennsylvania is non-negotiable for him:
“We have to win Pennsylvania and we’re going to win Pennsylvania. I have no doubt about that.”

Mad as Heck, Santorum Said a Bad Word.
Santorum’s reaction to The New York Times’ Jeff Zeleny appears to be authentic. It’s easy to forget that, despite what journalists might think, conservatives and Republicans are genuinely untrustworthy of most media. Whether or not it’s warranted is a discussion for another time, but it’s hard to speculate that Santorum didn’t mean what he said.

Sex, Polls And a Republican Candidate.
Maybe it a few Google searches too many. Or perhaps it was the series of mosaics done of him made from straight and gay porn. Either way, Santorum wants Americans to stop being too sexy with themselves.
Santorum is showing yet again how the more things change, the more things stay the same. This ploy for the right won’t do him much good and might actually alienate voters — not because...

There But By the Grits of God, Santorum Plays For...
As the national dialogue turned from birth control to cheesy grits, Rick Santorum’s campaign says that it hopes to turn the game around with Southern voters. Try as he might, Santorum has to keep in mind the demographics in play. The South has experienced a significant rise in its Latino population.
The states with some of the largest percentages in Hispanic population growth make up a large swath...

Santorum and The Mushy Middle.
Apparently, social issues shouldn’t be too much of a voter issue. At least for Rick Santorum, of all people.
In a radio interview with a Cincinnati talk radio host, Santorum blew up when the interviewer asked him about the contraception debate, framed around the idea that the host’s own Catholic conservative wife wasn’t too happy with Santorum.
The deflection is nothing new....

The Miseducation of Rick Santorum.
Despite the evangelical nature of his social policy, Rick Santorum’s political opponents are remiss they underestimate Santorum as some sort of undereducated bible-thumper. It’s was a lesson for Mitt Romney’s campaign, but the same idea should be instructive for American voters when it comes to Santorum’s education policy.
It’s no secret that Santorum doesn’t like the Department...

Churches Are People Too.
Democrats and liberal pundits hammered Mitt Romney when he was caught on film last year saying that corporations are people.
In a post-Citizens United America, the idea that a non-individual entity has First Amendment rights isn’t anything new, but Rick Santorum might have revealed last week a GOP affinity to the personification of entities that consolidate power.

Redefining Rick Santorum.
Have you met Rick Santorum yet?
Before you start Googling him, you should already know that Santorum is the ideologically consistent and unwavering conservative legislator-turned-2012-presidential-candidate-first-name-Rick not from Texas. In fact, the Pennsylvania native’s campaign has outlived a myriad of celebrated Republican figureheads. Santorum even won the first caucus of the season,...
